Immosupprasant Drug Therapy

Drug induced immunosuppression is the suppression of the body's immune system and its ability to generate an immune reaction to self or foreign bodies.

In many diseases, such as Lupus, immunosuppressant drugs like CellCept are used to shut down the body's immune reaction against itself and prevent the body from destroying its own kidneys. In the event that an organ transplantation is needed to combat a disease, immunosuppressant drugs are used to shut down the immune system in order to allow the body to tolerate the organ that is being transplanted.
